Hello there, I’m Christine. I am so happy that you have taken this step towards healing and personal progress and have crossed my path on your journey.  If you're ready to make your mental and emotional health a priority, you've come to the right place.

I offer individual, couples and family therapy to teens and adults in my Long Island psychotherapy practice conveniently located in Woodbury, NY. I  specialize in anxiety, trauma, eating and body image disorders, depression, self-esteem  and problems related to challenging life transitions.

With  over a decade served  in the healing and helping professions, I have helped clients from vast and varied backgrounds. I believe  that your work in showing up is one of great strength and I deeply honor and respect the courage it takes to walk through my doors.

My Story

I received my BA in communications from Syracuse University and had  pursued and enjoyed a career in the entertainment field for about a decade.  In 2006 after practicing, learning and experiencing the massive benefits of yoga and meditation, I drastically changed the course of my life and decided to pursue a career in the healing and helping professions. I became a certified yoga instructor and over time continued to develop multiple personal development workshops and yoga teacher trainings on the east coast. In addition, in 2010 I became a Thai yoga body worker with Lotus Palm  which eventually guided me to pursue graduate studies in mental health counseling at SUNY Old Westbury. I worked for two years as a counselor on the college level serving students with disabilities ranging from anxiety and learning disorders to physical impairments.  I have worked as an adjunct professor at Molloy college teaching Yoga Philosophy and meditation. I served as a presenter for the Western Suffolk Guidance Counselor's Association's annual seminar. I have since been working in private practice since 2015 and have found great success with my whole person individualized approach to counseling.  Most recently, I have completed my certification with EMDR therapy. EMDR is the most empirically researched and effective therapy for treating trauma. For more information on EMDR click here.

My Philosophy

you matter

Regardless of what path you've taken in finding your way to the here and now. YOU MATTER. To feel healthy of mind, body, and spirt is your birthright. Our work together will honor the need of your individual self study and compassion. Eventually your increased clarity and self concept will improve all interpersonal relations - including your most important relationship with yourself.

pain is a great teacher

In order to learn we need to listen. We've been so conditioned into believing that uncomfortable emotions are bad that many of us have learned to ignore and suppress that which needs to be experienced. Pain shows up to teach us lessons. Perhaps it is  a reminder to take action to change how we live, or, to stop action in one direction and move in another. Or maybe our ability to face our pain is a way to reconnect with our resilience as we continue to carve out a better pathway.

The lotus flower that you see throughout this site is symbol for self-awareness, patience, and our ability to rise out of the pain.

we have the power to change and heal

We are all a work in progress, myself included.   Regardless of where're your at on your life path, your possibilities to heal and create are infinite. As long as we are walking the earth we are taking in information and continuing to write the story of our lives. Each day we awake with opportunity to try again. Let's work together in writing your story of healing and transformation.
