My Background
I received my BA in communications from Syracuse University and had pursued and enjoyed a career in the entertainment field for about a decade. In 2006 after practicing, learning and experiencing the massive benefits of yoga and meditation, I drastically changed the course of my life and decided to pursue a career in the healing and helping professions. I became a certified yoga instructor and over time continued to develop multiple personal development workshops and yoga teacher trainings on the east coast. In addition, in 2010 I became a Thai yoga body worker with Lotus Palm which eventually guided me to pursue graduate studies in mental health counseling at SUNY Old Westbury. I worked for two years as a counselor on the college level serving students with disabilities ranging from anxiety and learning disorders to physical impairments. I have worked as an adjunct professor at Molloy college teaching Yoga Philosophy and meditation. I served as a presenter for the Western Suffolk Guidance Counselor's Association's annual seminar. I have since been working in private practice since 2015 and have found great success with my whole person individualized approach to counseling. Most recently, I have completed my certification with EMDR therapy. EMDR is the most empirically researched and effective therapy for treating trauma. For more information on EMDR click here.
